The Fender stratacoustic is a special guitar. Guitar has both electric and acoustic properties. The guitar can produce strong and rich electric tones, but also be naturally acoustic.
The guitar’s design is also special, with a Strat shaped compact body, combined of a spruce top and fibreglass at the back, providing a balanced sound. The sides are with great-sounding onboard electronics, which are very precise and easy to use while performing. The well-proven C-shaped Stratocaster guitar neck is made of maple, which makes the guitar comfortable and easy to play. Its upgraded features like binding, rosette checkerboard pattern and rosewood “Viking” bridge type give you the overall Fender look.
The Fender stratacoustic is a well-made and affordable electroacoustic guitar. The starting price of the Fender stratacoustic is 280.00 euros which can go up to 400.00 euro. The price of the guitar varies depending on the website or store you are buying from.
The guitar has amazing tones – Strat-like electric tones and very natural acoustic tones. A compensated bridge inlay made of Graph Tech NUBone ensures clean intonation and a flat string position, while the chrome-plated die-cast mechanisms keep the tuning clean. The body of the guitar is also the same size as a solid body electric guitar.
Although the Fender stratacoustic can provide different tones, it has had feedback from players that it does not sound the best when not plugged in. Also, the ends of the frets are a bit rough, but that can be fixed by filing them down.

The Fender stratacoustic was never meant to replace an acoustic guitar. It is a compromise of both, electric and acoustic, and that is why the sound of the guitar might not be as powerful as a completely acoustic or electric guitar. Once plugged in the amp the sound of the guitar is tinny smooth, with a little bit of natural reverb due to the existing soundbox and Fishman Isys III System. The metal strings, the guitar comes stock with Fender Dura-Tone Coated 80/20 Bronze, can be changed to the musicians taste.
Although the guitar can sound a bit tinny, it can be mostly explained by the selection of strings. There is always a possibility of getting some smooth jazzy Elixir metal strings to fit on the guitar.
The guitar itself has a very nice and sturdy build. It is made out of good quality materials, for example, fibreglass, maple, spruce, rosewood, which makes the guitar durable and more pleasant to play.

What Do People Say About It?
You can find a lot of feedback and guitar reviews on Amazon and eBay. A lot of people buy their guitars online, where the prices might be better than in stores. Overall the Fender stratacoustic has been rated on average 3.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon Review.
Amazon Review #1 – “This guitar is great, but after a setup. I sanded down the bridge, adjusted the truss rod to get rid of the bow. Also put a set of Martin Acoustic 10’s on it. It’s action is lower than my electric now with no buzz on any fret. Some fret ends were sharp, as I had to file them down with a needle file.
Don’t expect to get this guitar and play it out of the box. The strings that come with it are just too heavy gauge for this type guitar. It sounds great unplugged, just very low volume, as you should expect. The best part is when you plug it into a PA. Sounds great.”
Amazon Review #2 – “Admittedly I’m not a guitar expert. I’ve only been playing electric guitar for about a year. I wanted an acoustic guitar that was thin and had an electric guitar neck. This guitar meets all my needs and I love playing it. It was setup very well, didn’t have to do anything except change the strings.
The action is low and I love the sound it puts out with super slinky electric guitar strings. It also sounds great plugged in. The Fishman Isys III System is nice and the tuner works well and is easy to use. No regrets about this purchase. It came with some type of dirty film on the back. Probably from manufacturing/smoothing of the back. Really not a big deal, not even worth taking a star.”

The Verdict: Is it Worth It?
The Fender Stratacoustic represents the best of both worlds. The guitar has a sophisticated black finish and an awesome choice for acoustic rock. It is the perfect guitar for electric guitar players looking for a versatile acoustic instrument. The price is reasonable for the quality and the sound of the guitar.
Should you try it or not? Why or why not?
The Fender stratacoustic is a great choice for a versatile guitar. The quality is one of the best on the market in the price class and the feel, vibe and sound of the guitar are fascinating.
Yet, if you are looking to buy an acoustic guitar, then I suggest not buying the Fender stratacoustic. Rather go for the real thing. But if you are the type of guitarist who likes to switch between the two different styles and don’t want to go all out buying two separate guitars, then the Fender stratacoustic is the right guitar for you.
