Description:

The Fender stratacoustic is a special guitar. Guitar has both electric and acoustic properties, something most of the other acoustic guitars don’t have. The guitar can produce strong and rich electric tones, but also be naturally acoustic.

The guitar’s design is also special, with a Strat-shaped compact body, combined with a spruce top and fiberglass at the back, providing a balanced sound. The sides are with great-sounding onboard electronics, which are very precise and easy to use while performing. The well-proven C-shaped Stratocaster guitar neck is made of maple, which makes the guitar comfortable and easy to play. Its upgraded features like binding, rosette checkerboard pattern, and rosewood “Viking” bridge type give you the overall Fender look.

Price:

The Fender stratacoustic is a well-made and affordable electroacoustic guitar. The starting price of the Fender stratacoustic is 280.00 euros which can go up to 400.00 euro. The price of the guitar varies depending on the website or store you are buying from.

Pros:

The guitar has amazing tones – Strat-like electric tones and very natural acoustic tones. A compensated bridge inlay made of Graph Tech NUBone ensures clean intonation and a flat string position, while the chrome-plated die-cast mechanisms keep the tuning clean. The body of the guitar is also the same size as a solid body electric guitar.

Cons:

Although the Fender stratacoustic can provide different tones, it has had feedback from players that it does not sound the best as other acoustic guitars when not plugged in. Also, the ends of the frets are a bit rough, but that can be fixed by filing them down.

Is it Worth it?

With Stratacoustic, you won’t be missing out on a wonderful bargain that sounds as good as it looks. The building quality of the guitar is great. Nothing is loose, rattling or making unnecessary sounds when played. With its silky fretboard made of rosewood, traditional Fender C Shape neck and many possibilities to control the parameters of sound from the guitar itself.

The Stratacoustic also includes a built-in tuner and preamp that makes the guitar rather practical and also easy to set up or control during concerts.

Quality:

The stratacoustic was never meant to replace an acoustic guitar. It is a compromise of both, electric and acoustic, and that is why the sound of the guitar might not be as powerful as a completely acoustic or electric guitar. Once plugged in the amp the sound of the guitar is tinny smooth, with a little bit of natural reverb due to the existing soundbox and Fishman Isys III System. The metal strings, the guitar comes stock with Fender Dura-Tone Coated 80/20 Bronze, can be changed to the musicians’ taste.

Although the guitar can sound a bit tinny, it can be mostly explained by the selection of strings. There is always a possibility of getting some smooth jazzy Elixir metal strings to fit on the guitar.

The guitar itself has a very nice and sturdy build. It is made out of good quality materials, for example, fiberglass, maple, spruce, rosewood, which makes the guitar durable and more pleasant to play.

Who Is It Best For?

The Stratacoustic is primarily aimed at people who want the good parts of an acoustic guitar without buying an acoustic guitar. The potential owners are also getting all the good parts of the electric guitar, but none of the hassle of one. The guitar fits beginners, who would like to start experimenting with electric guitars, but also full-time electric guitarists who are looking for a versatile, easy-to-play acoustic guitar. It is also fantastic for practice and performance, amplified or unplugged. The comfortably playable guitar neck and easily controllable built-in tuner make it also a good guitar for beginners who are looking for a simple yet professional instrument. Overall the Stratacoustic will be most familiar for Strat players due to her familiar shape, neck, fretboard, and general feel.

What Do People Say About It?

You can find a lot of feedback and guitar reviews on Amazon and eBay. A lot of people buy their guitars online, where the prices might be better than in stores. Overall the stratacoustic has been rated on average 3.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon Review.

Amazon Review #1“This is a great guitar, but after a setup. I sanded down the bridge, adjusted the truss rod to get rid of the bow. Also put a set of Martin Acoustic 10’s on it. It’s action is lower than my electric now with no buzz on any fret. Some fret ends were sharp, as I had to file them down with a needle file.

Don’t expect to get this guitar and play it out of the box. The strings that come with it are just too heavy gauge for this type guitar. It sounds great unplugged, just very low volume, as you should expect. The best part is when you plug it into a PA. Sounds great.”

Amazon Review #2 “Admittedly I’m not a guitar expert. I’ve only been playing electric for about a year. I wanted a guitar that was thin and had an long neck. This guitar meets all my needs and I love playing it. It was setup very well, didn’t have to do anything except change the strings.

The action is low and I love the sound it puts out with super slinky strings that make it sound like it’s electric. It also sounds great plugged in. The Fishman Isys III System is nice and the tuner works well and is easy to use. No regrets about this purchase. It came with some type of dirty film on the back. Probably from manufacturing/smoothing of the back. Really not a big deal, not even worth taking a star.

The Verdict: Is it Worth It?

The Stratacoustic represents the best of both worlds. It has an amazing electric and acoustic tone. The guitar has a sophisticated black finish and is an awesome choice for acoustic rock. It is the perfect guitar for electric guitar players looking for a versatile acoustic instrument. The price is reasonable for the quality and the sound of the guitar.

Should you try it or not? Why or why not?

The stratacoustic is a great choice for a versatile guitar. The quality is one of the best on the market in the price class and the feel, vibe, and sound of the guitar are fascinating.

Yet, if you are looking to buy a specific guitar, then I suggest not buying the stratacoustic. Rather go for the real thing. But if you are the type of guitarist who likes to switch between the two different styles and don’t want to go all out buying two separate guitars, then the stratacoustic electric acoustic guitar is the right guitar for you.

#4 Squier By Fender 50’s Telecaster

The Fender Telecaster was called the ‘Broadcaster’ initially. It is one of the most sort-after solid body guitars even now. It is ideal for learners and great for pro players who like to play around with the different features.

Price:

It is pretty reasonably priced at $390, given the massive number of features it offers.

Product Description:

The Squier by Fender 50’s Telecaster has a unique and appealing design with a vintage single-cutaway body. Although it’s not the replica of the legendary Telecaster of the 1950s, it still gives the look and feel of an old vintage guitar.

Even in terms of sound output, it has a typical signature tone like every other Squier. The sound is quite resonant, maybe owing to the pine body.

Pros:

  • Well-crafted headstock
  • Twang city Telecaster
  • Quality Pick-ups and Hardware
  • Three color variants

Cons:

  • Slightly heavy
  • The pickguard is poor quality
  • Pick-ups may become noisy

Is It Worth It?

The Squier by Fender 50’s Telecaster is worth it given its cut-away make, solid materials, vintage sound vibe, and excellent built quality overall. It is a perfect choice in the given budget.

In-Depth Review of the Product:

This is what separated the Telecaster from other guitars in this budget. It has an exceptionally balanced sound which is also powerful.

Pine Body:

The pine body and tinted gloss finish definitely amps up the overall look of the vintage guitar. It comes with a black pickguard which again reminds you of the Fender from the 50s. The overall make feels like a premium guitar.

C-Shaped Maple Neck:

The guitar neck has a maple built with a ‘C’ shaped neck, making it highly comfortable and easy to play. It comes with a 25.5-inch scale and a 21 feet maple board. Adding a 22nd medium jumbo fret to the contemporary 9.5″-radius fingerboard Fender made it easier to express yourself musically.

Headstock:

The headstock features a truss rod adjustment.

Specifications:

  • Maple neck, Bolt-on “C” profile
  • Maple fingerboard, 9.5″ radius with dot inlays
  • Pine body, polyurethane finish
